Previously, CIAYO was a Virtual Social Platform where every posts are made up of colorful and imaginative illustrations. After the launch, said platform experienced an abysmal number of active users and it had to be terminated. Then, CIAYO pivots. Hard.
Now, CIAYO is transformed into an Indonesian-based comic platform with an international taste with a brand vision of eliminating boundaries between readers and authors.
This was a pitching concept when I worked at Ciayo in 2016. My brand story was “Your Everyday Comic Kanban Stand”. Based on the Kanban Stand of Japan, we want to break down its most basic elements and put its soul into the brand. From a Kanban Stand, the most essential part of it is the two stories that it has: the bottom is for displaying comic books, and upstairs is where the artist/shopkeeper lives.
